Small businesses can increase sales and loyalty by offering special products to those who have joined a particular social network group. The sales and special items make the customers feel like they are allowed additional privileges and when they shop at the particular location, they are more likely to purchase more than just the item they went for if something catches their eye. Through repetitive visits, the customer is more likely to visit the location since we are usually creatures of habit and tend to continually visit the same sites or locations that pique our interest. This is even more true when the customer feels like they are part of a particular group that would get special discounts and could even become an entertaining part of their day if a game is implemented to look for a certain “code word” that would allow an additional discount (which would also require for more perusal of the site and expose the individual customer to more products which they might be interested in). Through this, a company would be able to cater the products more to the individual’s needs and interests using Social Media Marketing.
