I’d always wanted to fly a helicopter. When I was a kid, and my friends were talking about rocket ships and jet aeroplanes, I always had my trusty metal toy helicopter. As I grew older, I started to think about what it would be like to fly one of these birds for a living. Taking people up up and away over the city, watching the look on their faces as they were amazed at the scenery that unfolded beneath them. The day I learned that my eyesight wasn’t good enough to become a helicopter pilot I was gutted. But thankfully, my mom put me in touch with her LASIK surgeon in Winnipeg. I had the surgery ten years ago, and haven’t looked back (and if I did, it would be with crystal clear vision).
