cape girardeau church
The church is comprised of family groups coming together and committing to building relationships with families of the church body. The understanding of being a part of these committed (covenantal) relationships begins with embracing the concept that every believer has the privilege and responsibility of hearing the voice of God personally (John 5:19-20, 30; 8:26, 38; 10:27). Upon acknowledgment of God’s direction for them to become a part of the church, they communicate their intent. Upon the affirmation and willingness to receive the individual into the church, these individuals are encouraged to cultivate a close and personal relationship with two or three other believers who can lead by example and instruction (Matthew 18:16; Philippians 3:17, I Peter 5:3). This may occur through their natural family members and/or relatives and friends, or other believers in the body of Christ. Our purpose is to build (committed) covenantal relationship with and among families groups that are committed to helping, serving and ministering to one another. We believe the primary way we disciple people is to establish family groups, bonded together through committed (covenantal) relationships and encourage each one to teach, instruct and live out the principles taught to us through scripture and the Apostle’s creed. By establishing these principles of committed (covenantal) relationships, multiple generations through family relationships will be trained as disciples of Jesus Christ.
